Cathedral Cubs Launch National Nest Box Week.

Lisburn Cathedral cubs have been making bird nesting boxes as part of their D.I.Y badge in advance of National Nest Box Week which runs from 14th to 21st February. The cubs were visited by Adam McClure; the local representative from the British Trust for Ornithology who inspected the cubs “brilliant nest boxes” and advised the cubs on where best to place them. The cubs also learnt how to identify different species of birds and about their migration patterns.

Adam also advised that the British Trust for Ornithology has an ongoing “Nest Box Challenge” where thousands of people across the UK have registered online with them and log details of bird activities in their gardens during the week. More details can be found at www.BTO.org
